Um, not sure if you guys can help but I have an issue with the Shell command in VB.Net.

I'm doing this:

Shell("tracert > C:lah.txt", AppWinStyle.NormalFocus, False, -1)

When I run "tracert > C:lah.txt" it happily creates a nice little text file with my trace route in it.

But when I shell (like above) it returns "Unable to resolve target hostname". Wierd one: ">" isn't a special character is it? (surely it can't be) I mean there aren't any characters that break strings in any version of VB!

I think that it's more of a shelling issue. Anyone got any ideas?

Jonny Tooze
