Default SQL book recommendation?

I've begun to realize that I know NOTHING about SQL. And it's making my job really difficult. I wind up perusing recordsets in vbscript on our crappy web server to get the exact information I need and it takes forever.

I'm looking for a book that can explain some of the more complicated concepts behind structuring a query. I've hit up nearly every major site that supports sql stuff and all they usually have are syntax definitions. Other times they're customized for just one database type (like t-sql or Oracle or whatever).

If you have a book that just reeks of good knowledge that would be great. Maybe I could even start answering a few of the questions I see others post...
