Default sql update statement

    I just changed the driver to my databases in my scripts to jet oledb because of the temporary volatile error. In the same script there is a syntax error in the sql statement to update my database. I can't seem to find it.

SQL_query = "UPDATE Referral SET Counter = Counter + 1 WHERE Ref_ID=" & InsertIntoID

    Did you
    Response.Write SQL_query & "<HR>"
to be sure you had a good value for Ref_ID?

And what, specifically, is the entire error?

I don't *think* that any of your names in that query are keywords, but you could always play it safe and do:

SQL_query = "UPDATE [Referral] SET [Counter]=[Counter] + 1 WHERE [Ref_ID_=" & InsertIntoID

Can't hurt; might help.
