Default Closing a connection error

I&#039m kind of new to ASP, and I read that all objects should be explicitly closed at the end of the ASP page. But I get this error sometimes

ADODB.Connection error &#039 800a0e78&#039
The operation requested by the application is not allowed if the object is closed.

I get this error on a connection object that shouldn&#039t be closed before I tell it to (ie objConn.Close), cause I used to to get DB info.

I close the recordset first, then the connection, like advised in an article on 4guys and get that error.

What does this error mean? Is there a way to test to see if a connection object is open or closed before trying to close it?

Thanks

Can you work up a mock example of when that error occurs? (Make sure you test the example, and that the error occurs.) With some code, we should be able to help! :)
