## Division

When I divide in ASP, it&#039;s coming out with weird numbers...why is this?<BR><BR>Example: &#060;%=7/102%&#062; this comes out as: 6.86274509803922E-02 not .068627...

More precise than you&#039;re expecting it to be.<BR><BR>If you don&#039;t like it, try using FormatNumber, and setting the precision.

...most people know, 10^-2 is the same as 1/(10^2). Which is the same as 1/100.<BR><BR>So...<BR><BR>6.0372627e-2 is the same as 6.0372627* 1/100, or 6.0372627/100, or 0.060372627...<BR><BR>The "strange numbers" are the best way to display numbers when they could be either incredibly large, or incredibly small...<BR><BR>Craig.
