s there a way i can see how many charters are in a string.

i then what to be able to go though and see which each is and check them agaist a varable..

LEN(theString) gives you the length

Instr(theSting, SearchValue) returns the position of the first occurance of an string withing another string

if Instr(theString,"X") > 0 it means X is in theString
... you would need to loop from 1 to the Len() of the string.

Use Mid() to get the specific character and verify that against your variable.
I need to know the possion of each charter as well e.g i need to know that at possion 1 there was a 0 etc.
.. where a particular character appeared in a string.

Maybe we are missing what you are trying to do. Can you try to explain it again?
I need to look though the string. which is binary
e.g.

op=101

and know that possion1 is = 1 and possion2 = 0 etc,
There is a link to the VBScript reference to your left, under the Resources subheader.
