Default ADO Problem

I am trying to get binary data from an access 2000 database and write it to a file. From what I have seen, the way to do it is:
1.Open a recordset with an sql select query
2.Create a recod object of one of the recordset's rows(this is where I am having the problem. I cannot create a record object from a recordset derived from the database. All examples on the web create a recordset from a file)
3.Create a stream object with the record object
the file with the stream object

Can anyone help me with step number 2 or is there a better way to do this? I am using ADO 2.7.

Thanks in advance
Ben

you don't need to create a new record. you'll get one returned by the recordset.
