Default IIS5 and Excel 97

We have an ASP application that uses Excel as a backend. (I know what
you're thinking, but we inherited this, and the code was written in
1997).

Out web server is IIS5 and uses Excel 2000. Does anyone have
experience
trying to run Excel 97 on IIS 5 ? We receive this error:

Error Type:
Microsoft VBScript runtime (0x800A801C)
Unknown runtime error: 'xlSheet.Cells'

Note that 'xlSheet' is a variable name

Lance

I know this is way out range to be called a little late, but ...

What I've found is that Excel 97 wasn't built with the Web in mind. A lot of the back end and front end functions in Excel 2000 do not exist in Excel 97.

You would either need to create the functions yourself or upgrade to Excel 2000.
