Default NULL date in SQL

    To all helping me...first, thanks!

I'm actually writing to a bit field and date field (of a much larger table). If my user makes a mistake and would like to delete an entry, I turn the bit field to "0" and replace the date that was originally entered as a NULL. All my attemps have created the 1/1/1900 value. The only way I can get NULL into the field is to CTRL 0 the field in Enterprise Manager.

Bill..I'm not Norman, just happen to be on the same general topic you answered for him earlier in the forum. :)

Kevin

You must use the keyword NULL in your insert/update statement

e.g.

update t set datefield = null where pkC = 4711
