    Default Automatic password protecting

Hello, <BR> I have an ASP running on an IIS4/NT server that has an automatic password prompt asking for the name of the user/login id even though I never specified any kind of password prompt for the script. It looks like a standard NT login but only occurs to people accessing our LAN but who are not part of our IP group. Any reason why?

The IIS Site security is proably set to NTLS (or something like that) this basically authenticaes peopel who are logged into the same domain as the IIS server and lets them thru. If for whatever reason you&#039;re not logged intothe same domain it pops up the box.<BR>This is actually the better way to secure Intranets as it does not bug people who work there to enter their passwords every time, yet protects the pages.
