Default ADODB always returns adForwardOnly type of cursor...why?

I am using ADODB in my ASP to connect to a database thru ODBC. When I create a recordset object and set its cursortype prop. to adOpenKeySet, still the cursortype returned by ADODB is 0-adForwardOnly. I don&#039t understand this peculiar behaviour. Even the code given by microsoft in its examples does not work.

I have tried both with Oracle and MSAccess databases. But the results are same.

So presently I have to use the Execute method to add records, but this gets complicated when I am trying to add too many fields in one line of code. I want to use the AddNew method.

Can you help me? Maybe I have to change some configurations, or use some other provider..

Please help

You may have not included the "adovbs.inc" file (containing
constants).
When you set the cursor type to adOpenKeyset your program
doesn&#039t understand it (as you haven&#039t included the file),
and so it uses its default value (adOpenForwardOnly).

John Weeflaar
