Default Closing an object

I have a function that looks like this:
Function closeObject(obj)
Dim ObjToClose 'As ADODB.Object
Set ObjToClose = obj
ObjToClose.Close
Set ObjToClose = Nothing
End Function

My question is: Is the object that comes in to the function (obj) still open, or does it close automatically when I set ObjToClose = obj?

    Default RE: Closing an object

It closes when you call ObjToClose.Close.
