Default Response Object in XSL

I need to access (just Response.Write) a session variable in an XSL sheet. I don't really know XSl all that well. I can put in <script> tabs, and create an alert box and stuff. But i really want to just write this variable out. I can't turn this page into an .asp page. It has to be .Xsl. Any ideas? If not, i guess i'll have to figure out how to do DB connections in XSL....

thanks

    Default ASP can output XSL

it can output ANY text-based format. instead of generating HTML< generate XSL.
