    Default locking a form field

    does anyone know if its possible to lock a field, so that the user cannot enter details into it.<BR>so that when it retrieves info from database it is put into a form field for information only, not to be edited<BR>

    If you&#039re using HTML 4.0, make your input element read only or disable it. The key difference is that if you disable it, it will appear grayed out and won&#039t receive focus or be included in the tabbing order. Also, the name/value pair of a disabled INPUT element won&#039t be sent when a form is submitted.<BR><BR>&#060;input type="text" name="inputfield" size=20 READONLY><BR><BR>Or<BR><BR>&#060;input type="text" name="inputfield" size=20 DISABLED><BR><BR>Aloha,<BR>Scott<BR>
