Default Urgent help - HTTP_REFERER

    Hi all,

I need help urgently with http_referer.
I have a program which works like below.
1)supposed on page1, user clicks on save
2)a pop-up window will appear to confirm the save and gets the url of page1 by using Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_REFERER")
3)the responding code will save the url into the databse.

My problem is that the code is saving the url of the popup window instead of page1. How do I solve this problem??? I need it by Monday and today&#039s Saturday!

Thanks in advance
Ai Jen

Try using a hidden field to pass the variable. It sounds to me that the http_referer is being called after the window pops open.

If you absolutely have to, use a session variable. In your situation you can expire the session right after you use it which would be a great way to do this.

Rob

    Hi,

Thanks for replying. I am using a hidden field to pass the data.
<input type="hidden" name="url"
value="<%=Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_REFER ER")%>"> and in the next code that gets this url and saves it to the database, I simplay use url=request.form("url") and sql statements.

But it does not work. I have no idea how to use a session variable but I will look it up. If you can provide more help, it&#039ll be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ai Jen
