that works fine for href tags in HTML but I'm after ASP. ie how to redirect to a specific frame using the following method of redirecting to a different page:

Dim newPageStr
if var = 1
newPageStr = "page1.html"
else
newPageStr = "page2.html"
end if
Response.Clear
Response.Redirect newPageStr
Hey Bill,
You seem to know a lot about ASP so I was wondering if you could answer my question above.
Is it possible to specify a frame for the Response.Redirect command to redirect to (like the target attribute does in HTML)?
You *cannot* specify a target frame with Response.Redirect. ASP is server-side and it therefore knows *nothing* about the frames of the browser the client is using.

If this is coming from a form or a link, then using the TARGET attribute will specify which frame the ASP output will be written. Otherwise, it is not possible using ASP.
