You think vbscript is easier than fully compiled VB or C#? I dunno, I think VB.Net is pretty straight-forward...no more having to deal with set statements, or wondering where the parenthesis go on a sub/function.
I suppose it would depend on his background. I find VBscript really simple and easy to explain....I think maybe its that I'm biased since ASP using vbscript is what I've worked with the most and longest. But from what I remember, it was pretty easy to pick up on. Would you suggest if he is just starting out to just start in ASP.net?
Granted, the job market isn't screaming for it now, but by the time he gets proficient the market will probably be calling for it more. I think Classic ASP could go the way of the Dodo in the future. Might as well learn the good stuff now! I mean, would you want to learn ADO, then immediately have to learn ADO.Net? 2 completely different animals there.
