Default Load Balancing

What are the features that we can fine tune in IIS for maximum scalability. Does IIS enable us to have load balancing?. If yes, how do we do it? what is the difference between Load balancing and mirror site? (I guess for load balancing we should have same copy of our application in more than one server, which is similar to mirror site right???)

Default RE: Load Balancing

Load Balancing is when two or more servers are working in tendem to share the total load. Each time a new request comes in, it is handed to the least busy server. To do it right, you will need dual network cards in each machine, and yes, they need to be loaded up pretty similarly. You can use Content Replication to keep all the HTML the same across all the machines.
