I've been charged with changing a website backend from Access to SQL Server, and while most of it has been smooth sailing, I've hit a wall with embedded SELECT statements inside of another SELECT statement. They work in Access, but not sql server.

Here's a simple example:

"Select * from ((select * from customers) as innertable)"

Access has no problem with this, but I get a syntax error in SQL Server. Obviously there's no need to use a query like this, but there are several very complex inner queries that follow a similar format. I would just use views instead of inner queries, but many of the inner queries are dynamically generated.

Anybody got any ideas?
