Default Database Connectivity Error

    When Windows NT Authentication is given the site displays expected output BUT When Anonymous access is given in Internet Service Manager to the Default Web Site the Database Connectivity using DSN / PROVIDER for SQL SERVER 7 fails. Username provided as a part of connection string is 'SA'.

The Error Message is as under :

Error Type:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80040E4D)
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'SYSTEM8IUSR_SYSTEM8'.
/engineering1/engg/Uni_list.asp, line 12

Please mail me the possible modifications required for smooth functioning of the connection.

    Default Yes. That *is* an error message.

    But, without seeing the code & connection string you are trying to use - we can't help.

-Doug

    Default RE: Database Connectivity Error

    Well, unless you set it otherwise, IIS lets you see
the Web pages it manages as you was on the machine
(more or less), and logged in as IUSR_MACHINENAME;
that way, you should set IUSR_SYSTEM8 (in your case)
as a valid user of the DB you're trying to access.

Hope this helps,
Graz
