I am using ASP with VBScript and on one form I am displaying a table based on the row in a table. On one column the user has to input the number of hours and on another column they have to input the rate. Using client side scripting, I need to have the system calculate the total each time one of these values is called and to be able to present a grand total at the bottom.

I've done the code if there are a fixed number of rows but I want to make it generic so that no matter how many rows are in the table they system can do the calculations. The code I use for row 1 looks like the following:

Amount(1) = EstForm.Rate1.Value * EstForm.Hours1.Value

and I repeat this code for each row.

My problem is how do I reference the column Rate1 (or hour1) in either a do loop (or a for/next loop). I would like to do something like:

For intI = 1 to Number_Rows
Amount(intI) = EstForm.Rate(intI).Value * EstForm.Hours(intI).Value

Next

I can do this in server side scripting but don't know how to do this in client side.

I also need to disable a form field (the total field) but still display it. I use IE5 and I read about the disable feature but don't know what tage I am suppose to use.

Thanks for your help.
