Default Password Protection Question . . .

Ok, I do have a question. I have a password protected area of the site (Win2k server) -- I understand that after someone logs in, I can set login = true....

and then on all the password protected pages, I can do:

if login = true then
load the page
else
You are not logged in
end if

My question is, do I have to pass the login=true query from page to page to page? what is the best way to do this?

dep
Default Include File.

Put it into an include file and you have to include that at the top of all of the pages you wish to have protected.

-Doug

Use a Session variable to retain the value then query the session.

ie. If Login validated
<% Session("loggedin")="1" %>

Check to ensure user is logged in on each page:
<%
if Session("loggedin")="1" then
load the page
else
You are not logged in
end if
%>
