    Default Persistent database connection

    I may like to use a single database connection to service all users who use a web application rather then creating and destroying a connection during each session.<BR><BR>Now, most importantly -- is this even a good idea? YOu know, some sort of connection sharing/pooling?<BR><BR>If it is a good method to use, then how would y&#039;all go about implementing it? Would you create an application object that is a connection type?<BR><BR>Any input would be appreciatted!

    Default Absolutely horrible idea!!!!

    A single connection cannot be simultaneously shared by multiple users. Windows DNA says let IIS manage connection pooling. <BR>Connected ADO objects are not free-threaded by default and thus should not be stored in Application or Session variables.<BR><BR>Read this:<BR><BR>
