Default SQL server access rights

In my startup web page(Using ASP) I would like to capture the UserId and Password from the Users and validate them against the SQL server UserID and Password. Is it possible to do that. Actually I was going to create a separate UserID table and validate the input (UserID and password) against that table contents.

Can somebody give me ideas Pls
Thank You
Nath

I not to too sure what you really want there. But if you want to compare against the system password (like the NT Ch/Rp). You need to use COM to run against the API to do that.

Otherwise, have a table in your DB and check if they are valid. If not close the session can also do the trick.(I think)
