Default DBase question

    yes.. unfortunately DBase... (i.e., Events.dbf)
I'm developing on PWS, to publish on C!S... I can connect to the DBase database and run select queries, but can't run an update query.

I'm trying to execute:
Update Events SET Title='test' WHERE EventID=1

Simple enough, but I get a
'Must use an updateable query' or something like that.

It's not file/folder permissions; I linked the file in Access and ran the same query and got the same error.

Any ideas, help? I'll eventually be running on C!S, so Access is out of the question. mySQL is an answer I'm considering, but I want to know if I can do this with a DBase file.

Secondary question to DBase, what are the date delimiters?
i.e., Access is SELECT field FROM table WHERE flddate=#02/11/02#;
SQL is SELECT field from table WHERE flddate='02/22/02';

Thanks!

Keith
