Default Carriage return

    I want to insert a Description into a field of Type=TEXT through an ASP form to a SQL server6.5 DB.
I can insert all the description (whatever the length of it) but when I retrieve it in my ASP page all the format has disappeared. No more carriage return appears.

My script is :
set conn=server.createobject("ADODB.Connection")
co nn.opensession "ConnectionString"
msg=request.form("descriptio n")
sql="insert into mytable (Mycolumn) Values &#039(" & msg & "&#039)"
conn.execute(sql)

Do I have to first format the Request.Form("description") with a specific function ?
Thanks,
You could do a...

msg = Replace(request.form("description"), vbCrLf, "<RB>")

Where <RB> is a standard HTML Break, but due to formatting problems, on this m-board, I switched it around.

HTH

Jerry
