Default Validation

    Hi there

I have a question

Subject is Validation, here I check if user has entered a value say between two fixed integer numbers etc..etc

I am calling that Function on the SUBMIT Buttons click event on a HTML Page

Everything works but when things fail, conrtrol shouldn&#039t take the further execution to the ASP Page. [I wrote "EXIT SUB" in that function, which doesn&#039t work and control goes to a ASP Page where the actual writing to the DB Takes place.]

I know I can sent this to a ASP for validation alone and if everything is allright, send it to the another ASP for final processing ! But then it becomes a third layer !

Any better suggestions ??

TIA
Manoj

It seems that if the INPUT TYPE="submit", it will always end up submitting.
Make it INPUT TYPE="button", and use frmName.submit in the client-side function.

validation of a form is better done at client side, this reduces the clients wasting time
