So, i wrote a spellchecker that takes every word in a message and searches for it in a string (stored in an application variable). That string is 800kb of text; each word in the string is separated by a line break.

I used the regex object to see if each word is in the string: if not, it is considered mispelled.

Problem: it is taking WAY too long. Is the regex object simply too inefficient for my purposes? Key code is below (i loop through the pattern-setting, expression-testing part; word gets set as appropriate within the loop.)

lbreak = "[f
vu00A0u2028u2029]"

objRegExpr.Pattern = (lbreak & word & lbreak)
bolFound = objRegExpr.Test(Application("spellcheck"))
