    Default create table query in access

    Hi All!!<BR>How can I write a "create table" query in MS Access 2000 DB, to create a table "users" having:<BR>-user_id ---&#062; auto number, primary key<BR>-user_name ---&#062; text<BR><BR>I&#039;m more interested in knowing how I can pass the contraints for the field user_id (ie., primary key and auto number) through a query...<BR><BR>TIA,<BR>Suresh

    The link to the ASPFAQs is at the top right corner of most every page on this site, including this one.<BR><BR>You want:<BR><BR><BR>If you are asking, more specifically, what the syntax is for an Access SQL query that specifies constraints, then look in the Access "HELP" in the contents and index for the word "CONSTRAINT" (or start from "CREATE TABLE").<BR><BR>And, incidentally, from SQL an auto number field is called "AUTOINCREMENT" or (I think) "COUNTER". Please don&#039;t ask me why.<BR><BR><BR>
