I am working on a project that allows users to upload images for others to view. After the picture is uploaded a row is added to a database table to keep track of file size, name, extension, etc. and the file is renamed to match the new row's identity field (ie 5325.jpg) Obviously this is done so all the files can be kept in one directory and users wont have to worry about conflicting file names. The problem occurs when another visitor wants to save the image it will default to the ugly non-descriptive number when i would rather it have the original filename from the person that uploaded it. I am pretty sure that this can be done because I have visited some messageboards where it is possible to attach and image. When you view the properties of that image it would look something like: attachment.asp?s=d77bfe6baf514f9b887639dcfa640380& postid=155614 but when you right click and save the image it will default to the original name. any suggestions?
