    Default Error: Server.CreateObject Failed

    This is my first component and I am getting this error-<BR>Server object error &#039;ASP 0177 : 800401f3&#039; <BR><BR>Server.CreateObject Failed <BR><BR>/first.asp, line 12 <BR><BR>Invalid class string <BR><BR>My asp page is first.asp<BR>My dll is first.dll<BR>My class is class2.cls<BR>

    Is the DLL properly registered? Can you see it in Component Services (I&#039;m assuming you are using Win2K)? Also check that if you have any references in the DLL that they are good. <BR><BR>When I debug a Component I use VBScript files to execute the component. Create a VBScript file that calls the COM object. The only difference is use CreateObejct as opposed to Server.CreateObject. Everything else is the same. Then put VB in run mode (F5). Put a break point (F9) in your Com Code. Double click the VBS file and it will break in the VB code. Then walk through and make sure nothing is amiss. Hope this helps.
