I am using an FP asp page to display results from a MS Access2k db. What I want to do is hyperlink the "<field1>" to another asp page that will allow a user to rewrite to the db into that same row with additional information.

EX.

asp1 pulls all open trouble tickets out of db1 and sorts them on the asp by db1.table1.field1 ASC. Click on ticket# (field1 in the db) "1" and you go to asp2 which has forms that allow data entry that write back into db1.table1 where field1 value = "1". I don't want to overwrite any existing fields, just fields in same row that have not been written to yet.

I have everything done up to the part where asp1 has the links and asp2 shows the results again, but I don't know how to get asp2 to write to the db.table row with "%field%" value 1.

As you can see, I'm not the most asp nor db savy guy out there, but I hope this is sufficient enough example to let ya see what I mean. Any help is much appreciated.
