I hope this is advanced enough. I have spent days trying to figure it out! I install IIS 5.0 on an XP machine and set all the permissions etc. allowing executables throughout the new site. I set the Default Web Site as an application and everything works OK. ASP file execute fine. As soon as I put a global.asa file in the directory (C:inetpub/wwwroot which is set as Default Web Site) no asp files will execute. There is no error message. Just no load. It doesn't matter what is in the global.asa file (even nothing). Deleting the global.asa file returns everything to working order again. I started using the global.asa file as generated automatically by Front Page for an Access database connection. The site will publish to the internet just fine but won't work on my machine's IIS server.
