...that you will *never* see it except on the very busiest sites and except with relatively large ASP pages.

Don't worry about it until and unless you find your entire site getting too slow. And even then there are probably other places you can save *A LOT* more time.

one question I think you know:

I use an VBScript class in one of my pages that needs to run on a Linuxbox with Chilisoft. i get an error with the following statement:

Public Property Get (expected end of statement at the Get keyword) Doesn't Chilisoft support this?
No classes...or anything associated with classes...in VBS 3.5. MS wouldn't license VBS 5.x to Chili!Soft (even before we got bought by Sun), so...

But go ahead and ask the marketing/sales people for the feature. The more who ask...

I don't think MS ever released a version 4 (they changed to 5.0 and then 5.5 to make the VBS and JS version numbers match the version numbers of MSIE). So that's probably a ChiliSoft version number, not a true MS one. But in any case it's built off the 3.5 (give or take a minor version) MS code base.

I might point out that at least we don't fib about it: The C!S docs for VBScript do *not* include the CLASS keyword, or any of the other related features/words.
