Default Cookies Or Database

I have developed a shopping cart application. I have used a temporary database table to store the basket contents, and writes them to the orders table only after order is conformed?

How efficient is this method? Is it too time consuming? I have heard that the temporary storage can be made even ic Cookies Or Session variables. But what if user disables ccokies on his browser? Please explain.

Well, if you use a cookies or session variable approach, and your user does not accept cookies, then your shopping basket won&#039t work for these users. Fortunately, you can determine whether or not your user supports cookies. See:

So, you can use cookies for those who support them, and a temp. database entry for those who do not... the best of both worlds! :)

Happy Programming!
