Charles Carolls ASP site gives to examples of DSNless connections to Access. Can anyone explain the differences between them and when to use them please

from (http://www.learnasp.com/learn/dbopen.asp)

OLEDB Good Connection String (recommended)
strconn="PROVIDER=Microsoft.Jet.O LEDB.4.0;DATA SOURCE="
strconn=strconn & server.mappath(accessDB) & ";"
'strconn=strconn & "Password=whatever;"

ODBC Connection String (not recommended)
strconn="DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};"
strconn=sourceDSN & "DBQ=" & server.mappath(accessdb)
strconn=sourceDSN & "Password=whatever;"

Thanks
Rich

    Default Use the OLE-DB connection sting.

    The difference is that OLE-DB uses one less layer to get the data from the data souce to the requesting code, and is far more stable.
